Your youngest learners need to feel safe and supported so they can learn with their whole body and all of their senses. We at Little Boots Early Learning Center will support your infant by developing supportive, trusting relationships. We create rich environments that encourage your infant to explore and discover the world around them, helping them to engage in experiences designed to support their optimal development in all domains.

At Little Boots Early Learning Center we value and respect parents as their children’s first teachers. That’s why we encourage a hands-on approach, having parents learn everything they can about their infants to better care for their needs and plan for their development. As a result, our infant program create a strong three-way bond between child, parent, and caregiver.

Little Boots Early Learning Center will work with your infant to focus on the following developmental areas:

Physical Development & Health to include; perceptual development, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and maintenance of healthy growth.

Social Development to include; interaction with adults, interaction with other children, relationship with other children, empathy, and understanding.

Emotional Development to include; relationship with adults, identity of self, recognition of ability, appropriate expression of emotion, and emotion and impulse control.

Language and Literacy Development to include; understanding language, expressing language, communication skills, interest in books.

Cognitive Development to include; cause and effect, spacial relationships, imitation, number recognition, the ability to categorize and routines.

Approaches to Learning to include; problem solving, memory and attention.

Having Fun! Learning standards are great, but at Little Boots Early Learning Center all children have fun too!

Toddler time is a very exciting time for you and your child. This milestone is usually indicated when the young child takes the initiative to formulate their own ideas, and develop a sense of autonomy. We at Little Boots will support your toddler during this wonderful time by first and foremost, encouraging an enhanced sense of self-confidence and self esteem.

Little Boots Early Learning Center has three toddler rooms. Our toddler rooms are safe, spacious and inviting for your child, a place that offers a diversity of age specific learning tools and social opportunities for all children.

Your toddler will be exposed to colors, shapes, numbers, letters, art sensory activities, song & dance, books, puzzles and many other developmental learning activities throughout their daily routine. The development of language and self-help skills are encouraged and promoted through creative play and complementary language development opportunities.

Potty Training
Potty training is a significant step for the older toddlers towards their self-awareness, self-identity and self-esteem. Therefore our knowledgeable teachers will work with both child and parent(s) to create a consistent and positive experience for the child during this important developmental stage. We will help guide you and your child to identify the signs of potty training readiness.

Learning Environment
Engaging the young child in social experiences such as circle time will allow your child to become familiar with nursery rhymes, enhance their vocabulary skills, identify colors, shapes, numbers and letters and be introduced to music through song and music-making. This is all taught through hands-on lessons which allow your child to learn through play. Learning through play is one of the highest goals we reach for at Little Boots Early Learning Center – it is a core element of our curriculum

In addition to social circle time, toddlers are also engage in learning at themed stations known as “table centers”. Each toddler classroom has designated areas where students gather in small groups to play with themed toys and learning tools. Each area focuses on mathematics and numbers, reading, dramatic play, practical life skills and manipulative play.

Math and Numbers has games and tools that encourage counting and number recognition.

The Reading Area has familiar books and letter cards and other letter tools that encourage letter recognition.

The Dramatic Play Area encourages creative pretending and role playing with costumes, puppets and puppet shows, and ‘grown-up’ toys and tools like brooms, dustpans, workbenches, etc…

Practical Life Skills features learning things like how to hold a cup, or a spoon.

Manipulative Play develops gross motor skills.

Physical movement and Outside Play is also important to toddler development and is an integral part of our curriculum. Toddlers play outside every day, weather permitting, in their own age-appropriate playground area. When weather is below 20 degrees or over 90 degrees, children play indoors.

By allowing toddlers to experience these important developmental learning stages – they will be become very comfortable and able to move into their next stage of development which is Early Preschool/Preschool. We provide the beginning and love of learning which will last a lifetime.

Early Preschool/Preschool is a fun and exciting time in a child’s life. Your child will absolutely love coming to school daily at Little Boots Early Learning Center. We offer two preschool classrooms serving children ages 2.5 years to 4 years old: Early Preschool (potty-training) & Preschool (potty-trained).

Early Preschool & Potty Training
Potty training is a significant step towards your child’s self-awareness, self-identity and self-esteem. Little Boots Early Learning Center understands that each child is different and will be fully potty trained at their own pace. That is why we offer Early Preschool, a transitional place to work with your child’s developmental needs following toddlerhood. Our knowledgeable teachers will work with both child and parent(s) to create a consistent and positive experience for the child during this important developmental stage.

Our teachers are very dedicated and experienced in the developmental stages of these important years. They realize that each child needs to develop at their own pace and therefore offer many activities in language, math, and science, fine motor and gross motor skills.

The activities are set up in learning centers which offers opportunities for your child to develop self confidence, decision making, patience and independence skills.

Learning through play is one of the most important ways your child will learn and is an essential element of our curriculum.
Each class offers social circle time where students co-mingle and interact with the teacher and the daily lesson. This provides each student the opportunity to listen and speak and engage their classmates and teachers, building the cognitive and social skills while learning.

Preschoolers also engage in learning at themed stations known as “shelf jobs” and “table centers”. Each classroom has designated areas where students gather in small groups to play with themed toys and learning tools.

Each area focuses on mathematics and science, reading and language, dramatic play, practical life skills, and manipulative play.

Math and Science Area has games and tools that encourage counting, number recognition, and recognition of basic scientific principles, including collecting and examining “bugs”, scales to determine heavy and light, determining hot and cold, etc…

Reading and Language Area has familiar and contemporary books and other letter tools that encourage letter recognition, phonetics and beginning reading skills.

Dramatic Play Area encourages creative expression through pretending and role playing with costumes, puppets and puppet shows, and ‘grown-up’ toys and tools like brooms, dustpans, workbenches, etc…

Practical Life Skills Area encourages teaches life skills like holding pencils and crayons correctly, how to hold silverware, washing hands, potty training, and cleaning up after yourself.

Manipulative Play Area encourages development of gross motor skills through activities like sorting and building.

Physical Movement and Outside Play is also important to a child’s development and is an integral part of our curriculum. Children play outside every day, weather permitting, in their own age-appropriate playground area. When weather is below 20 degrees or over 90 degrees, children play indoors.

By allowing preschoolers to experience these important developmental learning stages – they will become more comfortable with their own independence and begin learning tolerance, patience, rules, self confidence, decision making, and independence skills.

The Little Boots’ Pre-Kindergarten program prepares your child for that big developmental step to Kindergarten. Through our challenging activities, children develop critical-thinking and problem solving skills they will need to be successful in kindergarten, school and life. Your child will be presented with daily opportunities for listening, speaking and engaging with peers and teachers.

Academic Program
Math time offers lots of hands-on addition and subtraction activities – introducing your child to the basic mathematic concepts. The world of science is where your child’s imagination will really come alive. Introducing science experiments and how science works through our day will keep your child’s mind engaged. And our program offers a continual path to strengthen literacy, mathematical skills and most important social and emotional skills.

The School Age program at Little Boots Early Learning Center is a safe, fun and educational place for children ages 5 through 13 years of age. We base all of our programs around the needs of the child’s school schedule and the school calendar.

We offer a Spring, Summer and Winter camp that is well planned and structured to meet the needs of all age groups.

Your child will be welcomed to an environment that encourages them to further their social and emotional skills, build confidence and enhance their leadership skills. Your child will be engaged fun art and crafts, activities in the areas of math, language and science are part of their afternoon structured program.

Schedule
The Little Boots Early Learning Center school age program is offered throughout the year for your convenience. We provide care to your child on all days your elementary school is closed during the year.

Our center is open Monday – Friday 6:30am – 6:00pm. We are not closed for in-service days.

Little Boots Early Learning Center is only closed the following 7 major holidays:

– Labor Day
– Thanksgiving
– Day after Thanksgiving
– Christmas Day

Transportation
We provide safe transportation to and from your child’s elementary school. Your child will experience many field trips will attending Little Boots Early Learning Center.

School Age Kids & Responsibilities
Keeping school age children busy is our way of keeping them active both mentally and physically. Our dedicated school age teachers love to mentor the school age child. They are knowledgeable teachers who love working with school age children and are here to comfort and support your child daily. Our teachers want to help your child learn and grow while having fun doing it. Knowing your child is the eldest of children in our center we want our school age children to feel very comfortable at Little Boots Early Learning Center.

Homework
We want to make homework a fun and an easy experience for your student. We provide time for homework and even help your child understand their homework.

Activities
Along with the structured classroom activities, your child will participate in our programs – physical fitness, music, movement, and arts & crafts. Outside time is very important to us at Little Boots Early Learning Center, school age children have their own playground which allows for free play and lots of physical activity.

The Little Boots’ School Age program is offered throughout the year for your convenience. We provide care to your child on all days your elementary school is closed during the year.

Little Boots & Mountain Sprouts Speech has teamed up to provide complimentary screenings at our center for children ages 18 months and older. Following the screening, if your child is in need of Speech Therapy, Mountain Sprouts’ experienced therapists will come to Little Boots and work one-on-one with your child.

Early Head Start programs provide wide-ranging services for low-income children from birth to 3 years at no cost. The program is child-centered, family-focused and community-based.
Early Head Start encourages the role of parents as their child’s first and most important teachers. Programs build relationships with families that support positive parent-child relationships, family well-being, and connections to peers and community. Additionally, Early Head Start services are designed to be responsive to each child and family’s ethnic, cultural, and linguistic background.
Specific services for children & families consist of, but are not limited to: – Hearing, Vision and Dental exams – Child Assessments – Family support and Advocacy – Nutrition Education – Childcare Tuition Support
In order to determine if you and your child are eligible for these services, we will need to verify your household income, child’s age, and residency. Once eligibility is determined, you will receive a follow-up call to discuss next steps.
